2012 YEOSU EXPO Trophy design
The message that Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea tried to give ‘ boundary futility between human and ocean is coexist and live’ and the trophy design message symbolizing the exposition started from the same origin.
The Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea superb exhibition trophy design, embodying peaceful and quiet wave wiggling having a small vitality as circular image falling in the wave in the middle of quiet ocean surface without wave. This trophy is meaningful in awarding excellent exhibition out of the 106 countries that have participated and had 9 each gold, silver, copper total of 27 trophies.
This design emphasizing ‘Borderless’ expressed the relationship between ocean and human in ‘unceasingly spreading wave’ and ‘ sphere image symbolizing integration having no beginning and ending’ and designed containing the ocean’ basic meaning of not being severance and being connected as one whole.
2012 여수 세계박람회에서 던지고자 했던 메세지 ‘인류와 바다의 경계 허무는 상생(相生)’ 과 박람회를 상징하는 조형물인 트로피 디자인의 메시지는 같은 곳에서 출발했다.
물결이 일지 않는 조용한 바다표면 가운데, 원형의 이미지가 물결에 떨어짐으로 잔잔하고 조용한 물결이 작은 생명력을 가진 체 꿈틀거리는 모습을 형상화한 2012 여수 세계박람회 우수 전시관 트로피 디자인은전세계 100여개국이 참여한 전시관들 가운데 우수한 전시관을 선정하여 금,은,동 9개씩 27개의 트로피를 각 나라를 대표하는 전시관에 수여하는 의미 깊은 트로피이다.
‘경계가 없음’이라는 메시지를 강조했던 이 디자인은 바다와 인류의 상생의 관계를 ‘끊임없이 퍼져나가는 물결’과 ‘처음과 끝이 없는 완결성을 상징하는 구의 이미지’ 속에 표현하여 단절되어 있지 않고 모두가 하나로 이어져 있는 넓은 바다의 원초적인 의미를 담아서 디자인하였다.
